
KABALEDISTRICT | KAARO Karungi | The Police in Kabale district have called upon those operating bars to stand warned that they will soon be arrested if they continue operating illegally.
This development comes amidst allegations that some bars continued to operate illegally which flouts the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures SOPs.
In an impromptu visit to several bars, casino halls and gambling sites all over Kabale municipality, it was found that the majority of them operated normally against the government’s directive.
One of the bar operators who preferred anonymity told our reporter that the government should allow them to re-open their businesses with strict adherence to COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures.

They added that the unprecedented nature of the pandemic has changed their way of life, businesses operation and bars are not an exception.
“Like other businesses, it is knowledgeable for the government to reopen all their ventures since the scourge seems to be here for sometime” some bar operators narrated.
While speaking to our reporter, on why the bars are operating normally in Kabale district, the District Police Commander Brian Ampeire conceded that as security officials they are aware of the matter.
He warns that whoever is operating should know that they are operating illegally and they should immediately stop.
DPC Ampeire further warned those who are found sitting and drinking from bars to stand warned for they will be arrested anytime.
