KAARO KARUNGI | OPINION – The abavandimwe initiative by Mr Frank Gashumba has met an immediate resistance from the majority of the Baryarwanda living in uganda.
Abavandimwe which literally means a relative, brother or sibling is a kiryarwanda word that frank Gashumba has come up with to replace the re-known Baryarwanda a term that has been used to describe the Baryarwanda living in uganda for decades and centuries now.
For those who have been following our articles, we would like to inform our readers that the Baryarwanda have been here for centuries and decades now and even gave birth to other tribes as we highlighted to you in our recent article “THE BARYARWANDA QUESTION AND WHY UGANDANS MUST SIMPLY LEARN TO LIVE WITH THEM.”
Having faced many challenges, resentment and segregation as qouted by Gashumba Frank. The self styled motivational speaker, businessman and entrepreneur recently came our with a plan that will act as an escape route by the Baryarwanda in uganda to overcome all the hindrances they have registered during their stay and settlement in uganda.
In this plan, Frank Gashumba unveiled how the Baryarwanda must change that old aged name of theirs to a new name known as Abavandimwe.
Unfortunately, his initiative has met a dead lock and totally unwelcomed by the majority Rwandans living in uganda.
“Gashumba is a professor of lies, guys run away from him. We are Baryarwanda for life. Let him call Abavandimwe his embattled family.” One Muryarwanda whose names have been withheld blasted him on social media.
Most of the Baryarwanda living in uganda have also interpreted Frank Gashumba’s initiative as a personal plan to Crown him as their king afterwards. This has therefore not appeased most of them hence resisting it with immediate effect.
Some have been heard tasking Gashumba to also come up with what they have termed as kivandimwe language that is different from the kiryarwanda that dates back from their ancestors if he dare changes their well known indetification tag.
At the moment Frank Gashumba has put much emphasis and doubled his effort to market the new initiative however much the bottlenecks it has faced seems to be enough for him to retreat as quick as possible.
Most of the Baryarwanda have blamed Frank Gashumba for hyping, exaggerating and causing more tension saying that for them they have been freely associating with the natives apart from the mere problems registered by some of them.
To wrap up all, the Baryarwanda have swore never to dare disconnect themselves from their ancestral cultural Baryarwanda tribe to the newly yet to be acquired Abavandimwe citing many loopholes in it.
