KAARO KARUNGI | MBARARA – Two people have died on spot, four others are nursing injuries in Mbarara city road accident.
The accident According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson happened last night at around 11pm at Biharwe, 7KM from Mbarara City centre towards Masaka.
Police told this reporter that Motorvehicle UBB 974Q Actors trailer which was loaded with cement belonging to Balya hardware coming from Kampala to Mbarara caught fire when it reached Biharwe after the check point.
It therefore remained in the middle of the of road after the Police put off the fire as well as putting warning signs.
According to Kasasira, it’s at this point that a speeding Motor vehicle UBH 645Q Toyota Hiace loaded with Seven passengers that was coming from masaka side heading to Mbarara rammed into a stationary Motor vehicle from the rear.
“Two occupants from the same Toyota Hiace died on the spot and four minor injuries” Kasasira told the press.
By press time, particulars of the deceased and the victims were yet to be established.
