One Killed, Eight injured in Bundibugyo road accident



KAARO KARUNGI | BUNDIBUGYO – Eight Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) warriors are nursing wounds following a road acccident in Bundibugyo District.

The accident, which likewise killed a passerby distinguished as Eric Kiiiza yesterday evening, happened when an innumerable defensively covered UPDF vehicle let completely go and toppled at Dumba cell in Bundibugyo town board along Fort Portal-Bundibugyo road.

As indicated by Police, the harmed officers are Sgt. Godfrey Magaruru, the driver of the protected vehicle, Pte. Erias Muhumuza, Pte. Saturday Robert and Gracious Tumuhairwe.

Others are Cpl. John Ajuma, Cpl. Musa Kagwa, Cpl. Sowedi Barumba and Pte. Edgar Muramira, all joined to Kanyamwirima armed force confine in Bundibugyo.

The Bundibugyo District police commandant, Aggrey Okumu, says that the heavily clad vehicle was on a normal street test conveying ten troopers drove by Major Issaca Irama when the mishap occurred.

Okumu says the accident is blamed on a mechanical condition that failed steering functions.
