KAARO KARUNGI | RUKUNGIRI – A Police officer in Rukungiri district is nursing injuries at Karoli Lwanga Hospital Nyakibale after he was involved in an accident.
The injured Officer according to Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson is Special Police Constable 011 Turyasiima Martin 34 attached to Rukungiri police station.
Turyasiima who was riding on Bajaj Boxer motorcycle registration number UED 820F sustained serious injuries after being involved in a head on collision with another yet to be established motorcycle.

IP Maate told the press in a statement that the accident occurred on Monday April 26th 2021 at about 1900hrs at Omukayaga trading centre along Kanungu Bwabala Road in Rukungiri district.
Police visited the scene, drew sketch plan as inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of accident and hunting for the whereabouts of the other motorcycle according to Maate.
A case of hit and run serious accident has since been registered at Rukungiri Central Police station under Reference number TAR 14/2021.
