KAARO KARUNGI | KAMPALA – The Office of the President has officially directed all Resident City, District and Deputy Commissioners to urgently mobilize student refunds by bus operators for tickets that were never utilized.
On 6th June 2021, the President issued guidelines to combat the widespread of COVID-19 that ended up closing schools to allow learners go to their respective home destinations, however, some learners who had purchased bus tickets were left stranded as operators preferred those with improved hiked fares.
In a letter signed by the Secretary in Office of the President Hajji Yunus Kakande, directs all RDC’s, RCC’s and their deputies to use their respective area media houses to mobilize parents with students in possession of such bus tickets to return them to their offices for compilation of the total sum for refund by the concerned bus companies.
