In Menomonie, dozens of people spent a night outside to raise awareness about homelessness worldwide. The event, called AWAKE, aimed to draw attention to the challenges faced by homeless children, particularly in Uganda. Participants pledged to sleep outdoors and donate money to the nonprofit organization Zoe Now.

Zoe Now is a global nonprofit that provides assistance to vulnerable and lonely children, both financially and spiritually. This isn’t the first time the organization has organized such an event; they previously spent a night outdoors in November 2021, enduring cold temperatures to experience the realities faced by those without shelter.

The ultimate goal of AWAKE was to awaken empathy and support for homeless populations across the globe. By coming together and spending a night outside, participants hoped to make a meaningful contribution to the cause and raise awareness about the plight of homeless children.
