Kampala, Uganda – The Director of Public Prosecutions, Jane Frances Abodo, oversaw the deployment of 100 recently recruited State Attorneys under the Office of the DPP to various field offices across the country on Thursday.

In her address, the DPP emphasized the importance of integrity, faithfulness, and hard work among the State Attorneys as they carry out their constitutional duties. She reminded them that their authority to prosecute derives from the people they serve.

The DPP stressed that evaluation would be conducted individually, as each State Attorney had taken a personal oath, and encouraged them to prioritize doing the right thing in their assigned stations.

Furthermore, the DPP outlined her plan to divide the 100 State Attorneys into 10 groups and assign a mentor to each team, with mentors holding positions at the level of Assistant DPP or Chief State Attorney. This mentoring system aims to guide and nurture the new State Attorneys in becoming effective officers of the ODPP.
