KAARO KARUNGI | KASESE – Police in Kasese are holding one of their own corporal Nickson Kamala Sadiqui for shooting and killing his wife.
The incident happened on Thursday evening at around 6pm at good life trading center in Bulambira cell, Bulambira ward Rugendabara town council, where the deceased operated a shop.
ASP Nelson Tumushime the police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region said that the suspect is attached to Rubirizi central police station but he has been detained at Kasese central police station and will be taken to court.
The deceased has been identified as Zubedha Muhindo 28 year’s old. Tumushime advised men and women in uniform to always seek for counseling whenever they are faced with domestic challenges.
Edison Kule the chairperson of that area says that the duo had separated for six years and Muhindo had gotten married to another man, but kamala has been threatening to kill her if she doesn’t go back to his home.
Joseph Thembo, one of the witnesses says the suspect first shot in the air sending residents scampering for safety before turning the gun to his wife.
