A 47-year-old man identified as Kabigamba Jackson from Bundibugyo, has today afternoon stormed National Unity Platform (NUP) Kamwokya offices, seeking help over his son who was gunned down during the elections period in 2021.
Jackson alleges that his son identified Chekede Ibrahim Abooki, was killed on 13th Dec, 2021 after a military patrol stopped him, shot him and took the body.
According to NUP SG David Lewis Rubongoya who received Jackson at party offices says that his main request is for his son’s body is to give it a decent burial.
“Kabigamba Jackson, 47 from Bundibugyo, came to the NUP office to seek help. His son Chekede Ibrahim Abooki was shot dead on 13th Dec, 2021. He says a military patrol stopped him, shot him and took the body. His main request is for his son’s body so he gives it a decent burial”. Says SG Lewis Rubongoya.
Kabigamba Jackson says that he has moved from office to office, and also reported to the Uganda Human Rights Commission and other agencies but his efforts haven’t yielded anything.
He came to NUP offices as his last resort believing that they can amplify his voice to find his son’s body and accord it a descent burial.
“He has moved from office to office, reported to the Uganda Human Rights Commission and other agencies- nothing, except mentioning his son amongst those missing in a Parliamentary report. He came to NUP believing we can help amplify his voice. Sad”. Lubongoya added.
