Police in Ibanda District are holding a man on allegations of murdering his own nine year-old son after a domestic brawl with his wife.
According to Boaz Atukwase Tumwine, the Officer in Charge of Crime Investigations Department Kanyarugiri Police Station, the suspect, Vanancio Bainomugisha allegedly killed Aijuka, his son, both residents of Nyabigoye 1 Cell in Nyamarebe Sub County.
Tumwine says that Bainomugisha who has been held on several occasions over the use and sell of Marijuana and domestic violence, admitted to killing his son.
Godfrey Tabaaro Kanuuma, the chairperson LC1 Nyabigoye 1 says Bainomugisha developed a misunderstanding with the wife and son over money they had sold from pan cakes, before cutting Aijuka’s neck, and later dumping his lifeless body near Bihanga Army Training school.
The suspect is currently in police custody, as investigations into the matter continue.
