In Mityana District, located in the central region of Uganda, authorities are conducting an investigation into the unfortunate passing of Teopista Namiiro, a 25-year-old primary school teacher at St Kizito Primary School in Busunju, and her eight-month-old baby, Alvin Muwanguzi. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in Kanyale village, Namugavu Parish, Kikandwa Sub-county.

Preliminary findings from the police suggest that the room where the deceased teacher and her baby were found is adjacent to a produce (cereals) storage owned by Mr. Juma Ssentongo. It is alleged that Mr. Ssentongo had fumigated his storage area on Tuesday, September 26, using 20 dissolving fumigation tablets. This fumigation was intended to protect his stored maize from damage caused by rodents. The room occupied by Teopista Namiiro and her baby was separated from the fumigated storage area by a door.

The investigation aims to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
