In Buikwe district, a 35-year-old woman has been apprehended by authorities for allegedly borrowing a baby from a friend to mislead her husband into thinking she had recently given birth.

The woman, who is married to Moses Kibirango, a resident of Bogwe landing site in Si sub-county, reportedly borrowed the infant from Kiqusa village in Kayunga district, also from a friend.

However, suspicions arose among residents when they saw the baby and realized it was approximately 3 months old, rather than the 3 days the woman had claimed.

Solomon Owani, the area LC1 Chairman, stated that during questioning, the suspect admitted to borrowing the baby from a friend in an attempt to salvage her marriage.
