Kasese resident nabbed with 3 suspected stolen motorcycles

KAARO KARUNGI | KASESE – Police in Kasese are holding a man who was found with three motorcycles but without any document that confirms him to be the rightful owner.

ASP Nelson Tumushime the Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East region says Vincent Tumusiime, a resident of Katadoba cell in Kasese municipality was found with three Bajaj Boxers registration numbers UET 256G, UEM 215Q and UEG 647F.

Tumushime cautioned all garage owners against cutting any motorcycle into spare parts without first knowing its origin, saying they will be taken as suspects if found.

 Ahmed Amini the chairperson of boda boda riders in Kasese district asserts that the accused was caught trying to sell one of the motorcycles but on condition that whoever buys it must cut it into spare parts,

Amini added that in only march and April 2021, eleven motorcycles have been stolen from Kasese and only two recovered.

 He revealed that according to the information he got from URA,onemotorcycle is from kakuto-Rakai district, another one from kakoba Mbarara and another one from Mayuge district.



The suspect is being held at Kasese central police station.
