Police in Buikwe district are hunting for a woman who stole a four-month-old baby.
Hellen Butoto Ssezibwa Police Spokesperson said the baby was allegedly stolen from its mother, Siliva Nagginda by a strange woman.
The incident happened in Bulumagi village, Lugazi II Njeru Municipal Council in Buikwe district.
‘The unknown woman was Nagginda’s neighbour close to a month,’ said Ssezibwa.
The 23-year-old told police that the woman always brought her children sweets and ice cream to win her affection.
Geofrey Njuki, a resident said the baby stealer was staying with a boda boda man who took her as a wife.
Daniel Toko, the area chairperson said the disappearance of the child was due to parental irresponsibility.
Ssezibwa said a case file number SD 04/11/08/2021 was recorded.
