KAARO KARUNGI | RUBANDA – The Police in Rubanda District are investigating circumstances under which a 66 year old woman was allegedly raped and killed.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate has affirmed that Tumusiime Florance was today May ninth 2021, discovered dead in in a garden of beans close to Kabaya Catholic Church in Nyarurambi Village, Ikamiro ward in Muko Sub County, Rubanda District.
Maate said that the matter was reported by Nyarurambi LC 1 Chairman Byarugaba Milton to the Police that the deceased was found lying in a garden of beans.
Maate said that the residents told Police that the deceased was last seen on May 8th in Nfasha Trading Center as she walked to her home.
Maate added that when the Police visited scene of crime, they established that that there was a likelihood of rape after which a sharp object was inserted in her private parts which were shattered leading to over bleeding.
Maate told journalists that the Police is trying to establish the people involved in this henius murder of an innocent old woman so that they can be arrested and charged with high degree murder.
The case of murder has since been registered at Rubanda Central Police Station under reference number CRB 200/2021 to help in the in investigations.
