At the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) delegates’ conference on Friday, October 6, new leaders were elected to the top positions in the party. Here’s a summary of the key appointments:
- Mr. Patrick Oboi Amuriat retained his position as the FDC president.
- Mr. Nathan Nandala Mafabi was reelected as the Secretary-General.
Mr. Amuriat’s deputy will be Mr. Yusuf Nsibambi, along with Mr. Kaps Fungaroo and Ms. Margaret Wokuri Madanda. Mr. Musoke Hamisi Walusimbi was elected as the secretary for the Presidency.
Mr. Mafabi will have Ms. Gloria Paga as his deputy in charge of administration, and Mr. John Mugabi will serve as the deputy secretary general for research and policy.
Other appointments in the FDC executive committee include Mr. Geoffrey Ekanya retaining his position as the party treasurer general, with Mr. Wilberforce Kyambadde and Mr. Attan Moses Okia as his deputies.
Mr. Jack Ssabiti replaced Mr. Waisswa Birigwa as the national party chairperson and will be assisted by Mr. Jamal Wante, Mr. Centenary Franco Robert, and Mr. Mukalazi Kibuka.
Additionally, Mr. Ibrahim Ssemujju was replaced by Mr. John Kikonyogo as the secretary for information and publicity.
