The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is set to release the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) 2023/2024 results. According to reliable sources within UNEB, all preparations have been finalized for the official release, which is confirmed to take place on Thursday, 15th February 2024, at the State Lodge in Nakasero.
A close source within UNEB revealed to our Reporter that the delay in releasing the UCE 2023 results was due to various unavoidable circumstances, including arranging a meeting with the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, and completing data entry tasks at UNEB.
The source emphasized that stakeholder meetings have been ongoing since last week, and quality assurance measures have been implemented to ensure accuracy and correctness before the results are released. This meticulous process aims to prevent discrepancies and ensure that the Minister of Education and Sports presents the accurate figures.
“We are done with everything, only that a few issues held us up, ranging from arranging a meeting with our Minister of Education and Sports to compiling data and its entry into the system. But the results will be released this week,” the source confirmed.
Meanwhile, Uneb has been facing challenges in making clear announcements on social media and its website regarding the release of UCE 2023 results. There has been a high demand for immediate results release from parents to adequately prepare and gather school fees.
On another front, the National Examinations Board (Uneb) has announced that it will soon release the results for the UCE 2023 examinations, amidst concerns over delays expressed by parents, guardians, teachers, and candidates.
A total of 364,421 candidates registered to sit for the UCE 2023 examinations, marking a 4.3% increase compared to the previous year. The delay in releasing the results was attributed to Uneb’s engagements in other tasks, such as stakeholder engagements on competence-based assessment under the new lower secondary curriculum.
Although the marking and grading of candidates were concluded weeks ago, Uneb cannot release the UCE 2023 results without first briefing First Lady Janet Museveni, who serves as the Minister of Education and Sports.
The anticipation grows as Uneb prepares parents, guardians, teachers, and candidates for an announcement on the release date and program.
