Former Senior Four candidates from Midland High School in Kaberamaido District demonstrated remarkable resilience and academic success despite a tragic road accident just days before their final exams.
The incident occurred at Awoja Primary School in Soroti District when the candidates’ bus collided with a stationary trailer, resulting in two fatalities and critically injuring 31 students who were en route to Jinja for a Geography tour.
Despite the adversity, out of the 244 students who sat for the Senior Four exams, 16 achieved Division One results, representing an improvement from the previous year’s 11 Division One achievers.
John Ekou, the head teacher, revealed that among the 31 injured students, two secured Division One grades while the rest performed well in Division Two.
