The eighth edition of the Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda is scheduled to take place from November 9 to 12 at the source of the River Nile in Jinja, Eastern Uganda.
The festival organizers have disclosed details for this year’s event, including a full line-up featuring artists like Tash LC, Menzi, De Schuurman, Sarra Wild, DJ Marcelle, and more. The festival continues to showcase African dance music, with prominent performers from Uganda and Kenya, including headliners Mejja and Trio Mio.
The main stage will feature Ugandan talents such as EddyKenzo, Apass, Janzi Band, and Karole Kasita. Additionally, the festival highlights emerging sub-genres like Swahili trap (SHRAP) represented by artists like Boutross.
The diverse line-up consists of artists from various parts of Africa and beyond, including Tanzania, South Africa, Malawi, Ghana, Algeria, South Sudan, Mauritius, Saint Lucia, and more.
Nyege Nyege described the line-up as a gathering of pioneers, OGs, rule breakers, and ground shakers, generating excitement among festival-goers.
The festival will span nine stages along the source of the River Nile, offering boat trips and water activities on-site, as well as a variety of food experiences within the Nyege Nyege grounds.
In addition to its focus on music, Nyege Nyege offers wellness programs with yoga and fitness activities, a theater showcasing African cinema, and the Nyege East African Emporium featuring regional brands and creatives.
