Pilsner Lager has teamed up with Kulture Klub to organize the inaugural One Nation Festival in Uganda. This event aims to bring together people from various tribes in Uganda to celebrate the country’s rich cultural heritage. The festival will take place on October 8, 2023, at Lugogo Grounds.
Edgar Kihumuro, the Brand Manager of Pilsner at Uganda Breweries Limited, stated, “Culture is the reflection of a community and nation; it unites us and also gives us a unique identity. Pilsner Lager, as a strong supporter of cultural expression in Uganda, is partnering with One Nation to emphasize the importance of preserving our culture. This platform will unite Uganda’s diverse cultures in a celebration of our rich traditions, history, and cultural norms.”
The festival will showcase various aspects of culture, including music, dance, art, food, and fashion, with the goal of fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of the cultural heritage and evolution of Uganda’s communities. It will merge different cultural celebrations such as Iwacu Heza, Rukundo Egumeho, and Kwegonza Avenue into one unified celebration.
Lahm Mukundeta, the PR Officer of Kulture Klub, said, “This is a unique festival that will bring together multiple generations to appreciate the role of culture in their daily lives. We intend to present various cultural expressions in a modern and unique way to provide a memorable and enriching experience for everyone attending.”
Given that dance and music are significant cultural identifiers, the festival program will feature a diverse lineup of artists representing different regions of Uganda. Additionally, the organizers have announced that the South African duo, Mafikizolo, will perform at this cultural extravaganza.
