KAARO KARUNGI | KAMPALA – The Ministry of health permanent secretary Dr Diana Atwine is calling for the urgent lock-down of some areas to counter the rising covid19 cases, .
Dr Atwine says some areas need to be urgently locked down if the covid-19 second wave is to be contained since people have refused to observe SOPs
Dr Atwine says they are soon going to engage with the president after thorough consultations with the experts for guidance.
According to Dr Atwine, the second wave is worsening adding that the Intensive Care Units are already full with public hospitals soon running out of space to accommodate patients.
Atwine says the situation is worrying since the majority of the new infection are from young people.
