Dr. Ruth Aceng has said that travellers should be allowed to go home immediately after testing for Covid 19 on arrival at the Entebbe airport.
While presenting in the parliarment, Dr. Aceng has outlined the measures that will be followed during the mandatory testing of this virus.
She has directed that after a sample collection, the travellers coming into Uganda can find the safest place of shelter as they wait on their results.
The ministry of health will develop a tracking system with in two days to enable tracking on the average five cases per day. Dr. Aceng has added.
She later assured the house that with effect from 5th November 2021, all passengers will be allowed to go home and follow the general guidelines like other Ugandans.
This encounter follows the recent order from the president His Excellence Yoweri Museveni about all incoming passengers from different countries to undergo a forced Covid-19 testing at Entebbe airport before spreading to the rest of the country.
The president said that this was necessary because allowing these passengers entry movement any how and at any time makes the country risk registering more numbers of virus patients.
