A 42-year-old woman, Peregiya Mbambu, is feared to have drowned and died in River Nyamuruseghe in Kiduku village in Kyalhumba subcounty in Kasese district, Uganda.
The Chairperson for Mughanza village in Kyalhumba sub county, Mr. Absolum Mumbahya, identified the deceased as a local resident of Kiduku village but a local trader at Mughanza trading Centre.
Mr. Mumbahya said the deceased met her death as she crossed the river after closing her business last evening. He called for more consciousness before crossing rivers during this rainy season.
One Ms Velina described the deceased as a dedicated Catholic and faithful Nalongo, who was also a hardworking cassava flour dealer.
Mr. Adolf Kalisya, a new contact in the area, said the deceased had however successfully helped her three children to cross the river before she drowned after 730pm.
