KAARO KARUNGI | NEWS – Hon. Anita Annet Among is NRM’s choice for Deputy Speaker of Parliament after beating Hon. Thomas Bangirana Tayebwa in the caucus vote.
The National Resistance Movement NRM caucus members have voted for Hon. Anita Annet Amongi as their party flagbearer for the position of deputy speaker.
Her announcement comes at the backdrop of Jacob Oulanyah’s earlier announcement by the Central Executive Committee CEC in tomorrow’s speakership and deputy’s race.
Amongi the Bukedea woman MP defeated her closest Rival and Ruhinda North County legislator Hon. Thomas Bangirana Tayebwa in the caucus vote.
Bukedea District Woman MP, Anita Among, takes the NRM Deputy Speakership flag with 168 votes from the caucus. Thomas Tayebwa got 149, while Robinah Rwakoojo came third.
Tayebwa has, however, vowed to stand as an Independent tomorrow.
