Ibanda – Civil servants working with Ibanda district are likely to face interdiction if they hold any party within the 42 days of the countrywide partial lockdown, meant to fight spread of Covid-19, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Kweyunga Ruhemba has warned.
Ruhemba adds that it was not acceptable for any of the staff to hold a party during this time, saying it was disobedience against the President that can lead to interdiction of such a worker.
Ruhemba was speaking during the Ibanda district Covid-19 task force meeting. The district has recorded 44 cases of Covid-19 within just two weeks of this month.
Ibanda Resident District Commissioner – RDC Mary Bashongoka Kamaduka, who doubles as the task force chair, told the meeting that people flouting guidelines on burials continued to be a challenge.
While announcing the partial lockdown on June 6 to stop the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country, President Yoweri Museveni allowed attendance of only 20 individuals for weddings and burials.
