KAARO KARUNGI | KAMPALA – Mathias Mpuuga has been selected to be the Leader of Opposition (LOP) in the 11th Parliament by NUP.
In the official announcement read by the party secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya at the party headquarters in Kamwokya, Masaka MP who also doubles as the NUP Vice president for Buganda, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga was pronounced the Leader of opposition in the eleventh parliament.
Mpuuga is to be deputised by Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe of Manjiya county who is to be the Chief whip of parliament.
Mityana municipality legislator Zaake Francis Butebi has also been named the commissioner of parliament.
John Baptist Nambeshe, the Deputy President for Eastern Uganda was appointed the Opposition Chief Whip while Medard Ssegona is the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee, Joel Ssenyonyi is the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee of Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (Cosase).
The others appointed include Betty Nambooze as Chairperson of Government Assurances.
