Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, has stated that the party’s vice president responsible for the Central Region, Erias Lukwago, has never made any financial contributions to the FDC.

In a recent development, Lukwago aligned himself with Katonga and distanced himself from the leadership based in Najjanankumbi.

During a delegates conference held in Lugogo on Friday, Mafabi addressed the issue, mentioning that he has heard Lukwago refer to the FDC as his own party. However, he expressed his confusion regarding this, considering that the Lord Mayor has not made any financial contributions to the party.

According to Mafabi, as the Mayor, Lukwago is expected to make a monthly contribution of Shs 200,000 to the party. Nevertheless, he claimed that no such contribution has been received from the former Democratic Party member.

Mafabi remarked, “Lukwago has never contributed a shilling. I hear him say this party is his. He joined in 2020. There is a requirement that mayors pay Shs 200,000 to the party every month. He has never fulfilled this obligation. I am unsure if 2020 can be equated to 2004.”
