MASINDI – Health Workers attached to Masindi General Hospital in Masindi district have resumed work after a week of industrial action.
The health workers, especially those attached to the male and COVID-19 wards laid down their tools on Monday protesting the lack of Personal Protective Equipment-PPE and the harsh working conditions in which they were operating.
The health workers said they couldn’t continue handling patients especially those diagnosed with the deadly COVID-19 pandemic without Personal Protective equipment-PPE, because this exposed them to a greater risk of contracting the disease.
But Masindi District Health Officer Patrick Baguma says the matters have since been resolved by the hospital administration and encouraged the medics to return to work.
