Police impounds 712 motorcycles in curfew operations

A total of 712 motorcycles and 147 vehicles were impounded in curfew operations around the Kampala Metropolitan area.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, 250 suspects were also arrested in the operation that took place on Monday.

“The suspects are currently detained at our different police stations where they will, later on, be released on police bond and issued with express penalty tickets, which they will have to pay before their vehicles and motorcycles are released,” Owoyesigyire said.

He warned the public to plan their journeys early enough to avoid any inconveniences.

These operations according to the Police shall continue taking place.
