Police has said that, it does not know the security agency that re-arrested Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya and his counterpart Allan Ssewanyana Makindye west, after their release on bail from Kigo Prison.
Last month, Security officials separately rearrested the two legislators, hours after they were released.
Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana, have been battling charges of Murder, attempted murder among others, related to the Machete wielding killings in Masaka, that claimed lives of close to 30 people between August and September this year.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Martins Okoth Ochola told MPs that the president’s proposal of scrapping police bond was left to the Attorney General for guidance. The remarks were made during a review meeting with the defence parliamentary committee on the achievements and challenges of the financial year 2020/2021.
