President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will address the nation tomorrow September 22 on COVID-19 and the measures being taken to control it. The address is set for 8pm.
The development was confirmed by the President’s Senior Press Secretary – Ms. Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka in a tweet yesterday morning.
” @KagutaMuseveni will address the Nation on COVID19 situation and related issues on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 8 pm,” Nabusayi said in a tweet.
The presidential that comes ahead of the proposed reopening of schools will be telecast live on all Television and Radio Stations.
He is expected to address the long standing issue of a closed education and religious sector and outline new lock-down measures plus a vaccination plan.
The Ministry of Education said that the final decision will come from the president.
Meanwhile, bar owners under their association had also vowed to re-open their bars, saying the 60 days President Museveni had given them in his last address had elapsed.
Religious leaders will also be interested to hear from the president on whether places of worship will be allowed to reopen, having kept them on lockdown for 60 days, in his last last address in July.
Museveni in his last address on Covid-19 on July 30th, 2021 partially reopened transport means and other sectors though he maintained on Schools and places of worship.
