The Chief of Defence Force (CDF), Gen Wilson Mbadi, has advised UPDF Air Force officers to avoid engaging in activities that could harm the reputation of the institution.

Gen Mbadi gave this advice during the graduation ceremony of 52 MI24 attack helicopter engineers, who completed thirty-six months of training in various fields of electrical and aircraft maintenance, and 28 officers who completed a six-month Officer Basic induction course at the Uganda Air Force College in Nakasongola District.

During his speech, Gen Mbadi emphasized the importance of avoiding behaviors such as fraud, corruption, and seeking unwarranted popularity. He also encouraged the officers to prioritize their health and physical fitness, as these factors contribute to their overall success.

The CDF highlighted that the Air Force commanders are taking steps to address training backlog issues by utilizing qualified internal instructors efficiently and cost-effectively.

Regarding the engineers, Gen Mbadi mentioned that their technical skills and knowledge would greatly facilitate aircraft maintenance, provided that they are willing to apply what they have learned.
