RUKUNGIRI: Christians at Christ believers temple in Rukungiri Municipality were on Thursday shocked after learning of the untimely death of their lead pastor Amon Tweheyo Kaharata
It is alleged that Kaharata, 35, was found lying lifeless on his bed.
‘It is suspected that he could have died on Wednesday night during a heavy downpour as he was allergic to bad weather,’ a source from his church said on condition of anonymity.
The source further said they were waiting for a post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.
However, they said they cannot rule out bad weather during the downpour that was characterized by lightning and thunder.
Tweheyo, a son to a business tycoon in Rukungiri, Bernard Mugarura Kaharata and is also a brother to the Rukungiri District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Medius Natukunda Kaharata.
‘I announce the untimely death of my elder brother whom I follow Amon Tweheyo Kaharata who was this afternoon found dead in his bed room, burial arrangement will be communicated later,’ Natukunda tweeted.
Before offering his life to the almighty, Tweheyo was an artiste and is known for a number of songs that caught airwaves of most local radio stations during his era.
