The Ministry of Health through its permanent secretary Dr. Diana Atwine has come out to clarify to all Ugandans that the country will not be locked again even if Covid cases rise.

President Museveni under the advice of this ministry closed the economy since 18th March 2020 till 24th Jan 2022 when it resumed operation.

While appearing on one of the biggest televisions today in Uganda, Atwine revealed how the country should not expect any other lock down.

She said this following the 5000 (five thousand) children that have already shown the signs of Covid 19 in all the schools of Uganda. Atwine added that the country has already suffered a lot of losses in economy and thus re – opening was very necessary.

She said the ministry is doing all it can possible to finish the vaccination campaign such that the entire population is safe. She called upon all those who have not had it in their mind by accepting the jab to go for full vaccination before it is late.

Atwine reminded all the Ugandans that the disease is still here and therefore should not get tired of wearing, sanitizing, putting a social distance and following other measures recommended by the Ministry of Health.
