Bukoto South MP Twaha Kagabo and Njeru municipality MP Jimmy Lwanga, both from the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), have announced their backing for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), formerly known as the MK movement.

During the launch of PLU at Saddler Lane, Naguru-Kampala city suburbs, Kagabo affirmed his membership in the MK movement and expressed intentions to join PLU, emphasizing his allegiance to the NRM party. He critiqued NUP, labeling it as a club of failures unable to secure victory in politics.

Lwanga, reflecting on his NUP affiliation, voiced his shift in allegiance towards PLU, citing the need for continued government services in Njeru municipality and expressing confidence in Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership.

PLU, under the patronage of Gen. Muhoozi, is described as a non-partisan and non-sectarian organization, according to Micheal Mawanda, a member of the central committee and Igara county MP. Mawanda clarified misconceptions surrounding the MK movement, emphasizing support for its principles rather than as a personal project of Gen. Muhoozi.
